How the plan works
The unit is planned the way a flat in a block actually sits: the entrance and the whole north wall face the common corridor, so that side is blind and both windows land on the south façade. They are a matched pair — 1.6 m wide, glazed from a 50 mm sill to a 2.1 m head — which puts floor-height daylight at the lounge and at the sleeping corner alike rather than favouring one end. The kitchen takes the blind corridor wall as one uninterrupted run of counter, sink, hob and fridge, which is exactly what keeps the daylit wall free to live against. The bathroom is boxed into the north-west corner beside the door with a shower, toilet and basin, borrowing no window and costing the south wall nothing. What is left reads as three zones without a single extra partition: the dining table against the east wall, the sofa, coffee table and TV bench grouped in the south-west corner, and the double bed in the south-east corner, with the wardrobe standing on the corridor wall alongside the kitchen.
